Scholarships for Children of Breast Cancer Survivors

Pink ImpACT gives $1,000 scholarships to North Texas high school students whose families have been through breast cancer. If your mom, dad or someone you cared for was diagnosed, this is for you.

Breast cancer doesn’t only happen to the person in the chair. Kids drive to appointments, take over chores and sit up worrying. Sherry Thompson, who founded Pink ImpACT in 2018 after her own diagnosis, started these scholarships for them. Since then the program has given more than $80,000.

Who the scholarship is for

Children of breast cancer survivors and students who have been a caregiver for a survivor. Pink ImpACT counts anyone as a survivor from the day of diagnosis, whether they’re still in treatment or years past it.

How to apply

You’ll write 200 words on how breast cancer has affected your life. That essay is what the committee reads most closely, so write it like you’d tell it to a friend. The rest of the application asks for your school, the college you’ve picked, your activities, work and volunteer history, and a parent’s information.

Applications reopen in March 2027. Ask your school counselor, or contact Pink ImpACT to hear when the form goes live.
